Ford Creates Gaskets Using Recycled Tires and Soy

Reducing, reusing, and recycling...three missions American automaker Ford outlines in their global sustainability strategy. And while, we don't always talk about it, the company is working hard to fulfill its environmental commitments.

In cooperation with Recycled Polymeric Materials (RPM), Ford has found a way to prevent retired tires from going straight to the landfill. By combining recycled tire particulate with soy, the two companies have developed lighter, eco-friendly gaskets to be used in Ford vehicles. Seat cushions, for example are made using soy. Wash. winner claims $6.4M Lotto prize - Plans to Buy New Ford

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. (AP) - The Washington Lottery says a retired Boeing program manager pulled a Lotto ticket worth $6.4 million from a stack of other lottery tickets tucked in his car visor and claimed his prize.

The lottery says Jack Poltz Jr. of Auburn used a Quick Pick to select his numbers for the July 9 drawing. He claimed his winnings Monday at the Federal Way lottery office.

The Seattle Times says Poltz and his wife, Susan, plan to pay off their mortgage, buy a new Ford and likely donate some of their winnings to charity.
