Available now at Bickford Ford located at 3100 Bickford Avenue Snohomish, WA, the next generation Ford Focus with Ecoboost is ready and waiting. But overseas, the 1.0 liter engine and high gas mileage car is making its first appearance.
Last week, the US-based auto maker confirmed their Focus 1.0-liter EcoBoost is going to be available for all interested parties throughout Europe. Models will be on dealer lots, ready for test driving, but anyone wanting specific additions to their vehicles can order a car online through Ford's European site.
Ford also believes this car will "set a new record for the automaker in terms of efficiency and emissions."1
This is the engine's initial round of trials in Europe, and its first time on board Focus. Later this year, the Ecoboost will appear in two more overseas models.
The turbocharged engine produces a mile per gallon (EU, not US) rating of 58.9 mpg, with CO2 emissions around 109g/km. So, what's the big deal about this tiny 1.0-liter powerplant? Ford claims the engine can reach the same horsepower and performance as a non-turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder.
